Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Qibblo, operated at qibblo.com ("Qibblo," "we," "us," or "our"), handles personal information when you use our website, apps, APIs, and related services (the "Service").

"Personal information" (also called "personal data") means information that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked to you. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read this Policy. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

02

Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide

  • Account information — such as your username, email address, password, and date of birth or age confirmation. We may collect a phone number if you choose to add one.
  • Profile information — such as your display name, bio, profile photo, cover image, and any other details you add.
  • Content you create — the Qibs, comments, messages, Sparks, and other Content you post or send, including any media and metadata attached to it.
  • Communications — information you provide when you contact support, respond to surveys, or otherwise communicate with us.
  • Invitation codes — codes you use to join or share, where the Service offers them.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Usage data — how you interact with the Service, such as Qibs you view, Sparks you give, Glints activity, features you use, and pages or screens you visit.
  • Device & connection data — such as IP address, device type, operating system, browser type, language settings, and device or app identifiers.
  • Log data — server logs, access times, and error data that help us keep the Service running and secure.
  • Approximate location — a general location (such as city or region) inferred from your IP address. We do not collect precise GPS location unless you grant permission.
  • Cookies & similar technologies — as described in Section 6 and our Cookie Policy.

2.3 Information from other sources

If you sign in or connect through a third-party service, we may receive limited information from that provider (such as a basic profile) in line with your settings there. We may also receive information when other Users interact with or mention you.

03

How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  • create and manage your Account and provide the Service;
  • display your Content and personalize your feed and recommendations;
  • enable social features such as Sparks, Glints, and gifts;
  • communicate with you, including service messages, security alerts, and support responses;
  • keep the Service safe — detecting, preventing, and investigating fraud, abuse, spam, and security incidents;
  • enforce our Terms, Community Guidelines, and Acceptable Use Policy;
  • measure, understand, and improve the Service, and develop new features; and
  • comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
No user-sold advertising at launch. Qibblo does not sell advertising to Users, and we do not use your personal information to build profiles for third-party advertising. If this ever changes, we will update this Policy and provide any notice or choices the law requires.
04

Legal Bases for Processing

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region with similar laws, we process your personal information on one or more of these legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract — to provide the Service you've signed up for.
  • Legitimate interests — to secure, maintain, and improve the Service, prevent abuse, and understand how it's used, balanced against your rights.
  • Consent — where we ask for it, such as for certain cookies or optional features. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation — to comply with applicable laws and lawful requests.
05

How We Share Information

We share personal information only in these situations:

  • With other Users — your profile and the Content you post publicly are visible to others. What's public versus private depends on the feature and your settings.
  • With service providers — vendors who process data on our behalf (for example, hosting, storage, analytics, email delivery, and security), under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only for us.
  • For legal and safety reasons — to comply with law or valid legal process, enforce our policies, or protect the rights, property, and safety of our Users, the public, or Qibblo.
  • In a business transfer — if Qibblo is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
  • With your consent — when you direct us to share, or otherwise agree.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under applicable privacy laws.
06

Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, keep the Service secure, and understand how it's used. Some are essential; others are optional and used only with your consent where required.

You can manage your preferences through your browser settings and, where offered, our in-product cookie controls. For full details, see our Cookie Policy.

07

Your Choices

  • Profile & privacy settings — control what appears on your profile and who can see or interact with certain Content.
  • Content — edit or delete the Qibs, comments, and other Content you post.
  • Communications — adjust notification preferences and unsubscribe from non-essential emails. Some service messages are required while you have an Account.
  • Cookies — manage optional cookies through your browser or our controls.
  • Account deletion — delete your Account at any time from settings or by contacting us.
08

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the rights below. We honor these rights as required by applicable law and do not discriminate against you for exercising them.

8.1 EEA, UK & similar regions

  • access a copy of your personal information;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • delete your information ("right to erasure");
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • data portability — receive your data in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
  • lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8.2 California & similar U.S. states

  • know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it;
  • access and delete your personal information;
  • correct inaccurate personal information;
  • opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — note that we do not sell or share personal information in this sense;
  • limit the use of sensitive personal information; and
  • not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

8.3 How to exercise your rights

Contact us at privacy@qibblo.com. To protect your Account, we may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Where permitted, an authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with proof of authorization.

09

Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as your Account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and after that only as long as necessary to:

  • comply with our legal obligations;
  • resolve disputes and enforce our agreements; and
  • protect against fraud, abuse, and security risks.

When information is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymize it. Backups and logs are kept for a limited period and then cycled out. Some Content you shared publicly, or that others saved or re-shared, may persist after deletion of your Account.

10

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You also play a role: use a strong, unique password, keep your credentials confidential, and tell us promptly about any suspected compromise. If a data breach affects you, we will notify you and the authorities where the law requires.

11

International Transfers

Qibblo operates online and may process and store information in countries other than where you live, including the United States. These countries may have different data protection laws.

Where we transfer personal information across borders, we take steps to protect it, including using appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses where required by law.

12

Children's Privacy

Qibblo is not for children under 13. The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or a higher minimum age where local law requires), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under the applicable minimum age without proper consent, we will delete it. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact privacy@qibblo.com.

13

Third-Party Services

The Service may link to or integrate with third-party websites and services we don't control. This Policy does not apply to them. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party service you use, since your information there is governed by their terms.

14

Automated Tools & AI

We use automated systems, which may include machine-learning and AI tools, to help operate the Service — for example, to rank and recommend Content, detect spam and fraud, and identify content that may violate our policies.

Where an automated decision would produce a legal or similarly significant effect on you, we provide safeguards required by law, which may include human review and the ability to contest the decision. You can reach us at privacy@qibblo.com for more information.

15

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy as the Service evolves or as laws change. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in-product or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
